NEW STUDENTS: If you are new to the district and have a child in grades 7-12 you will need to come in and register. In order to expedite the process, please have with you a copy of your student's most recent report card (middle school) or transcript (high school), a copy of health records and, if your child receives special services please make sure you have a copy of the most recent IEP and evaluation or 504 plan. Leave your information on voice mail and I will send you an enrollment package. We will contact you with a date/time as soon as possible. COLLEGE VISITS students must have permission from classroom teacher to meet with college representatives AND must sign up prior to the day of the meeting. Sign up sheets will be on the Guidance Counter. Most meetings will take place in the Conference Room unless otherwise stated. COLLEGE FAIRS SEPTEMBER 16, 2010 IS THE ST. MICHAEL'S COLLEGE FAIR. HAZEN IS PROVIDING A BUS TO TAKE INTERESTED STUDENTS. BUS WILL LEAVE APPROXIMATELY 8AM AND RETURN ABOUT NOON. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PERMISSION FORM TURNED IN BY THE END OF THE DAY MONDAY, SEPT 13TH. The Vermont State Colleges is pleased to continue to offer FREE tuition for VT high school valedictorians and salutatorians. Students who qualify are EXEMPT FROM TUITION FOR THEIR ENTIRE ATTENDANCE AT THE VSC, through a bachelor's degree, as long as they maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. JUNIOR YEAR CALENDAR MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2010-2011! PSAT TESTING WILL BE WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13. PSATs are a PRACTICE test for the SAT tests AND it's the only way Juniors can qualify for National Merit Recognition and Scholarships. The PSAT test gives you feedback about your academic skills, information from colleges, enters you in scholarship competitions, prepares you for the SAT. More information as we approach the date. Juniors planning to go to college should plan to take this test. Watch the "Guidance News" board in early October for sign up information. When you sign up, you will receive a practice test.
