Course Description
(from Program of Studies 2004 - 2005)

The Hazen Chorus is open to all students who like or would like to sing. The course is designed for students who wish to extend their knowledge of music through performance of vocal music. Music selections will include a variety of styles stressing regular choral repertoire including classical, spirituals, sacred, madrigals, and pop music. There will also be opportunities for students to do solo and small group work. The goals of the chorus experience are: to learn to sing as a group, to develop the ability to read music, to gain an understanding of basic music theory, to gain the knowledge of various styles of music, to perform as often as possible, to contribute to the musical life of the school and community, and to participate in special events and festivals.

Homework: Extensive rehearsal and practice - occasional written work.

Method of Evaluation: Aural exams, quizzes, and occasional tests.
